Resources for creating digital stories
As with any file download and installation, always use caution when downloading and running executable files.

Audacity - free audio editing software that allows you to create, mix and produce audio files.
CamStudio - free screen capture software that can output AVI and Flash files.
Creative Commons - search for images, music and video that you can re-mix and re-use legally.
Impress - If you don't have access to Microsoft PowerPoint, this is a free, open source slide show presentation creator that includes animations and audio. Impress is part of the Open Office suite.
Jing - a beta project that provides a way of sharing still and video screen captures from your Mac or Windows OS to the internet.
Microsoft PhotoStory- free software from MS that allows you to add digital photos, narration and music to create a digital story.
Photobucket - a free photo sharing site.
Star Office- If you don't have the Microsoft Office suite, you can obtain a free slide show presentation package as part of Star Office, which is part of the Google Pack suite of tools.
PowerPoint - if you do have access to the Microsoft Office Suite, you can use PowerPoint to create your digital story. Just create a presentation and upload it to one of the sites listed in the publishing section of this page that host slide shows.
SUPER - multimedia file converter.
ToonDoo - create your own comic strips.
Windows Movie Maker - Included in Windows XP and Vista OSs, can output videos in formats usable on PDAs.

blip TV - General video blog site.
Flickr - a photo-sharing site owned by Yahoo!
Slide - allows you to take photos from online or offline storage and create an animation with them.
SlideShare - a web site for sharing presentations on the web.
TeacherTube - videos created by teachers for teachers. This site has a very similar look and feel to Youtube
VoiceThread - captures the voice of an entire group, create a digital story using your photos.
