The Networker - Guidelines

The edna newsletter The Networker is a cross-sectoral fortnightly publication, presenting up-to-date information about edna. The newsletter features information of interest to the Australian education and training community, promotes and publicises edna's projects and developments, and highlights news from stakeholders.

Target

The service is aimed primarily at stakeholders, librarians, teachers and students.

Categories

The content is organised, but not limited to the following headings:

  • Presentations, comments, views
  • edna resources
  • edna activities
    • Hosted services
    • edna Groups
    • edna Lists
    • Event calendars
  • From the edna Office
    • Visitors
    • Statistics
    • Staff profile

Not all categories will be used each week and other categories of information will be added from time to time in line with demand.

Methodology

The newsletter is published fortnightly, providing summaries and highlighting aspects of items likely to be of interest to subscribers. Contributions from the education and training community that conform to the criteria below are encouraged.

Criteria for inclusion of items in the newsletter

Items included in the newsletter should be of relevance and interest to the Australian education and training community. It is preferable that items submitted for inclusion in the newsletter have a:

  • Title
  • URL (if applicable)
  • Brief summary of the resource or item.

1. Presentations, comments, views - includes comments from a representative of the education and training community - it may be a person who has recently visited edna or Australia, an excerpt from a pape or key report, a word from the Project Director, or similar.
2. edna resources - highlights recent additions from the edna repository of online resources.
3. edna activities - provides information about activities or initiatives, progress reports at key points, promotion of edna services.

In cases where an item includes contact details for further information, generic contact details should be submitted. Due to privacy regulations, personal contact details will not be published in the newsletter, unless a consent to use personal information has been submitted in writing.

This service welcomes comment on its selection policy and contributions from bona fide members of the education and training community in Australia and overseas.
