The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is the professional organisation for the Australian library and information services sector. It seeks to empower the profession in the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership, advocacy and mutual support.
Australian School Library Association (ASLA)
The Australian School Library Association (ASLA) is a national authority, a peak forum in the field of teacher-librarianship
and school library resource services. Its aim is to maximise opportunities for students to obtain independent lifelong learning
and decision-making skills through ASLA's commitment to, high professional standards, awareness of advances and
changes in technology and the competence and ability to teach and use it, effective, cooperative use of school resource services
by the whole school community, qualified teacher-librarians with an image of excellence, and optimum use of the dual skills
of teaching and librarianship.
National Library of Australia
The National Library of Australia's collections and services underpin Australian cultural life and intellectual
pursuits. It is the pre-eminent source for the documentary record of Australia and its place in the world. The NLA is a statutory
authority within the Commonwealth government's Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio.
A resource of around 15,000 HTML documents provides access to information about the Library, its collections, services and
activities.
