Big Choc: Just Say Yes! - As part of Don't Trade Lives, STIR, VGen and World Vision are calling on the Australian chocolate industry to make a genuine attempt to tackle the root causes of child labour in cocoa production. In late November, VGen are hitting the road and heading to Canberra from every capital city as part of the Trek Against Trafficking.

In April 2008, we asked young Australian's what got them fired up and offered real prizes - rather than flashy electronic gizmos!
Up for grabs was 10 mozzie nets to prevent malaria for people in Papua New Guinea and India. And for the winners a sweet Stir prize pack, including a Stir Tee, 250g of Jaspers Fair Trade coffee, badges, stickers and confirmation that the nets are on their way!

ASP World Champion Mick Fanning is World Vision's newest champion for child rescue. Mick has been a long time child sponsor with World Vision and has also supported a range of other WV appeals. Mick was ripping it up at Bells Beach in the 2008 Rip Curl Pro over the Easter weekend and on 60 Minutes on Sunday night. He ended up finishing 5th, but fellow aussie Steph Gilmore won the women's event.

The Rode RAGE team were smiling and so were families in Southern Sudan when the team conquered Sydney to Ballarat.
The irrepressible Damascus College Energy Breakthrough Team took to the tarmac in a ride from Sydney to their hometown of Ballarat in March 2008. They showed what can be done about climate change and raised funds for goats through the Smiles Gift Catalogue. Check out the team's webcam and blog.
