What is AusLIST?
AusLIST is an online directory of:
- Australian education and training providers
- the Australian courses they deliver around the world and the
- locations outside of Australia where those courses are delivered.
AusLIST can now be viewed at http://www.auslist.deewr.gov.au or from the Study in Australia website through the tab titled ‘Study in your own country’.
AusLIST is still in the early stages of development, and is being progressively updated as institutions and their courses are approved for listing.
AusLIST enables prospective students, their familles, overseas governments and other stakeholders to access information about courses offered offshore by Australian institutions. To list on AusLIST, institutions are required to declare their commitment to provide quality education delivery offshore.
What can be listed on AusLIST?
AusLIST will list Australian education and training providers who:
- are approved to operate as an Australian education and/or training provider
- deliver education and/or training both in Australia and around the world
- have no known persistent and/or significant non-compliance with nationally agreed standards outstanding at the time of application for Listing or re-Listing and
- have no adverse findings against them by an external review body that is relevant to the provider’s ability to deliver quality education and training.
AusLIST lists Australian education and training providers who offer courses that:
- are an AQF qualification for which the provider is approved to deliver (higher education) or which is within the provider’s scope of registration (VET) or
- are an English Language Training (ELT) course (however, pending the finalisation of nationally agreed ELICOS standards, AusLIST will only list ELT courses where the Australian provider is either registered on CRICOS, or is an Australian Registered Training Organisation, an Australian University or an Australian School)
- are delivered in a manner consistent with the relevant agreed national standards
- are available for enrolment at the time of listing and
- include a compulsory face-to-face component (which does not include supervised examinations, but includes work placements if they form part of the accredited course) outside of Australia.
