Sorting PowerPoint Activity

 

As you know, this month we are learning to sort objects by color, shape, and size.  Baxter and Jake (the beloved dogs of Mrs. Bannister and Mrs. Goodman) have created this special activity for your child (ok, so Mrs. Bannister helped a little!).  This interactive PowerPoint will challenge your child to find the objects that do not belong, as well as place objects into the correct group based on various attributes.  Make sure you have your volume turned on and have fun!

Mother Hubbard's Pattern Game

 

Poor Mother Hubbard's dog has no bones in his cupboard.  But don't worry!  Jake and Baxter are coming to the rescue, but they need your help!  If you choose the correct bone to complete the pattern, you will help fill up the poor dog's cupboard!  Have fun!

Chicka Chicka Letter PowerPoint Activity

I have created this interactive PowerPoint to help your child practice upper and lowercase letter recognition.  Since many children have difficulty with the D'Nealian style lettering that is used in Kindergarten, this activity focuses on those "tricky" letters. 

Unfortunately, there is not a free D'Nealian style font available, but I was able to find a very close approximation.  In order for you to view the PowerPoint CORRECTLY, you MUST download and install a free font called Jarmon.  It is a zip file, so you will need to unzip it, and then install it into your fonts file.  If you are unsure how to do this, please click here for help.

Writing Numerals!

Practice writing numerals along with me!  Before you begin this PowerPoint activity, you will need a piece of paper and a pencil.  If you would like to use a practice sheet designed to accompany this activity, click here to download it.   This PowerPoint will provide an animated model of the correct formation for each numeral 0-9 and allows for practice time between each number.  Have fun!
