Delegates at the historic ISME 2008Middle East meeting that took place with members from Afghanistan,Israel, Iran, Oman, Palestinian Territories and Qatar.

One month after this significant event, Shulamith Feingold (standing first, from the left) our friend and colleague and chair of the ISME Commission for the Education of the Professional Musician (CEPROM), and Head of the Levinsky School of Music Education, passed away in Tel Aviv, Israel.

2008 ISME-Gibson Awards in Music Education Print E-mail

Congratulations to Carlo Delfrati and the Note di Pace Project, recipients of the 2008 ISME-Gibson Awards in Music Education.

These awards are presented at the ISME WorldConference and recognize outstanding achievement and service in thediscipline, thereby providing acknowledgment for exemplary musiceducators and their institutions whose work enriches music education intheir home country and serves as an exemplar for the ideals of musiceducation internationally. The award carries with it $20,000USD foreach organization or institution's music program honored as well as$5,000 in instruments and a commemorative Gibson Guitar.
