edna closure
continuation of some edna services
discontinued edna services
archived edna content
some alternative sources of similar information
30 September 2011 marks the cessation of Education Network Australia (edna) at www.edna.edu.au
edna was a joint project of the Australian government and State and Territory governments. It was partly funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. From 1997 to 2011 edna provided a suite of services to all sectors of Australian education and training. Some of these services are continuing and others have been archived, as detailed below.
The edna domain will be retained for a minimum period of two years. All urls containing this domain will be redirected to this edna closure information page.
Enquiries regarding the closure of edna can be made to support@edna.edu.au
The edna Groups and Lists will be transitioned to a new free service provided by Education Services Australia to Australian education communities. This service will be at www.groups.esa.edu.au
In the meantime the links at http://www.groups.edna.edu.au/ and http://www.lists.edna.edu.au/ will still function.

All existing groups and lists will be automatically transferred unless this is not the wish of the Group or List owner.
The following edna services have been discontinued:
The edna website pages have been archived as a static non-searchable set of pages. This includes all sector information on edna: theme pages, newsletters, calendars, and content on the site about edna itself. These pages can be viewed at: http://apps-new.edna.edu.au/edna_retired/edna/go.html
Please note that the static website will not be updated; links to external sites may become inactive and the edna search functionality will no longer work.
A copy of the metadata repository may be available on request to support@edna.edu.au. Please note this set of data is in dspace tables and interrogatable only by SQL query.
Some sections of the site have been archived through PANDORA, Australia's Web Archive, at http://pandora.nla.gov.au/. These include papers and research documents written about edna and by edna staff. The pages can be searched using the Trove service at the Pandora site.
The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has an archive of several versions of the edna website between the years 1996 and 2010. See http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://www.edna.edu.au
Users may download and republish resources from this website, for the purposes of fair dealing, personal and non-commercial use with acknowledgement to Education Services Australia.
Requests for any purpose other than fair dealing, personal and non-commercial use of copyright material published on the edna site should be made to Education Services Australia. Please see Copyright information at http://www.esa.edu.au/contact-us/copyright-and-terms-use
A list of some alternative sources of education information available free of cost online, and relevant to Australian educators, has been compiled and is available here.
A list of some possible alternatives to aspects of the me.edu.au service (professional networking for educators) has been compiled and is available here.
All the edna staff wish to thank all users (and all former staff, managers and stakeholders) for your past involvement and contributions to edna services and communities.
We are proud of the work that edna has done in fostering collaboration, networking and sharing of learning and teaching knowledge and resources across all sectors of education in Australia.
We wish every success to the ESA Groups and Lists service which will provide ongoing support to education communities in maintaining the former edna online Groups and Lists.
