You will learn the core skills and knowledge required to implement, assist, and contribute towards Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, processes and programs to ensure it is and remains compliant within your organisation. You will learn about the WHS legislation and framework; how you can implement, monitor and comply with WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements; and how you would contribute towards WHS hazard identification. You will learn about risk assessment, risk control, WHS consultation and participation processes, as well as WHS management systems. You will also learn how to respond to incidents, about sustainable work practices, undertake project work, present research information and implement continuous improvement.
The course is designed to be completed within 6-months, but you do have up to 24-months to complete the course! You will learn the knowledge and skills required to perform entry-level work health and safety (WHS) duties. You will learn how to implement, assist and contribute towards WHS policies, processes and programs. The course will also cover WHS legislation and framework, hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control, consultation and participation processes, and management systems. The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41415) course has been developed against the Australian Quality Framework for public health.
