We do not believe in our students learning for the sake of passing their assessments. This is why the assessments structured for this course are conducted using a combination of realistic workplace simulated practical tasks and knowledge questions!
The following provides a brief explanation of the assessment methods that are to be applied:
- Knowledge Questions: The student is required to individually complete a set of questions. The student may research their answers from the course training materials and notes as well as relevant workplace references.
- Practical Tasks: The student is required to demonstrate a range of skills whilst being observed by the assessor. This will usually require the student to consider carefully the situation presented, undertake some research to inform the response, and then demonstrate that they are able to complete the practical tasks through a role-play or presentation activity.
As required under the Tax Practitioners Board, at least 40% of the assessment for the course is to be undertaken under some form of independent supervision. This means that there are two assessments (lasting 2-hours each), which will be undertaken online, whereby one of our assigned invigilators will supervise you throughout the duration of each assessment.
Your web camera and microphone must be switched on at all times throughout the duration of each assessment and you must produce a valid passport or driver’s licence to confirm your identity at the start of each assessment.
It is important to note that you will still be able to refer to your notes and your learning materials during this assessment, and assessment date and time bookings must be made at least 1-week in advance.
